Our outreach programme is ideal for both KS2 or even KS1.
Focussing on the Vikings and Saxons that came to settle in this country, we consider where to settle, how to survive, law and order, battle tactics, childhood and culture - with an art activity, making a Viking bead necklace, and the option to hear the tale of Beowolf the epic story of a Viking hero.
from £400 +Travel Expenses
Introduce the children to the epic Norse tale of the Beowolf. Beowolf is a bit of a show-off, with the strength of 30 men he will tackle any monster attacking your village. Hear his story and choose, if you wish, to follow up this short performance with poetry writing workshop.
Learn how to wield a sword and shield like a Viking raider, work with your classmates to make an impenetrable shield wall and then test your strength against a Viking warrior.
Explore Viking and Saxon games and consider how different childhood would have been in Anglo Saxon Britain.
