The Rutland Heritage Shop stocks a range of quality educational toys unique to Oakham, beautiful artisan gifts and pocket money souvenirs.
At Oakham Castle we have horseshoe-themed souvenirs in addition to Rutland, Medieval and Castle-themed gifts. At Rutland County Museum we have carefully picked items which reflects the Museum collections and the County of Rutland and offer something to suit all tastes and ages. Perfect as a present or lovely as a treat.
Carers Passport
Rutland County Council is proud to support VASL, Carers Passport across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The Heritage Shop at Rutland County Museum and Oakham Castle offers 10% discount on items purchased in the Heritage shop (some exclusions apply). This will be available to carers who have been identified by RCC & LCC as an unpaid carer and show their card to obtain the discount.
Souvenirs
We have a great selection of Rutland-inspired souvenirs including postcards, magnets and our very own bespoke designed tea towel. Pop along to see our selection and you will find something to take home to remember your visit.
Traditional and modern toys and games
Rutland Heritage shop is well stocked with traditional toys like wooden spinning tops, Cat's Cradle and Jacob's Ladders, great toys that never fail to interest little hands.
Unique Gifts
We have a range of beautiful and unique items from local artists, ceramicists, crafters and designers. Many of our artisans use upcycled ingredients to create beautiful unique designs.

We have a fabulous collection of cards including many by local artists and art groups.
Publications
We also stock a selection of local guides, trails and maps for you to explore Rutland and many factual books detailing items from our local history collection here at Oakham Castle & Rutland County Museum. A selection of Rutland Local History & Record Society journals can also be purchased from the Museum shop.
