Ceremony Booking

Your booking is for 2 hours. This allows time for guests to arrive and time at the end for photographs and enjoying the grounds.

We can host up to 80 guests for ceremonies.

Parking & Accessibility

We offer free parking for up to 8 cars, and have easy walking access to other car parks for your guests.

We are accessible for disabled guests, wheelchair users and buggies.

The Great Hall of Oakham Castle is licensed for civil marriages and civil partnerships.
This means that it is not possible to include religious elements in the ceremony. The Superintendent Registrar will be able to advise on the content of the ceremony.

The Great Hall is a wonderful backdrop to your ceremony, and you can enhance the event with your choice of flowers and decorations. However, The Great Hall is a Grade I Listed Building dating from the twelfth century. We do not allow naked flames (candles etc.) or balloons onsite. Decorations may be tied with ribbons or string, but we do not allow the use of pins, nails, sticky tape, white-tac or similar fixings to the historic fabric and furniture of the hall.

Dogs are allowed in the castle, if they are kept on a lead.
