Linda Healey
Operations Manager and Wedding
As Operations Manager at Oakham Castle, Linda oversees daily operations, visitor experience, and wedding & event coordination. Linda ensures the Castle runs smoothly while providing support to couples planning their wedding or any event organiser. Linda and the castle team is dedicated to making each experience memorable in such a sought-after venue.
Lorraine Cornwell
Collections Manager
Lorraine is the Collections Manager. She cares for and develops the collections, ensuring they are preserved and accessible for visitors and future generations. Her work supports exhibitions, research and public engagement. Lorraine also oversees the hanging of the ceremonial horseshoes, continuing its most distinctive traditions.
Emma Warren
Heritage and Learning Officer
Emma Warren is the Heritage and Learning Officer at Rutland County Museum and Oakham Castle. Over the last twenty years she has designed and developed a learning programme for primary school pupils. She delivers engaging workshops covering a variety of historical topics such as toys from the past, Prehistory, the Romans, World War Two, and Crime and Punishment. Additionally, Emma organises popular craft sessions and activities during the school holidays. She also plays a key role in interpreting both sites, using the museum’s collections to develop a variety of fascinating temporary and permanent displays and exhibitions.

Joanne Walker
Senior Assistant
Joanne works designing, purchasing and displaying retail items for Oakham Castle and Rutland County Museum. The Heritage shops at both sites offer seasonal gift ranges as well as locally sourced artisan products, souvenirs, children’s games and toys, and a wide choice of local guides and interesting books. Joanne strives to source a collection that is packed full of new designs and styles inspired by the special places we look after. With a background in horticulture, she is often found in the garden along with the Sensory Garden volunteers but is equally at home providing an informative tour and welcome for visitors to Oakham Castle.

Richard Allen
Technical Assistant
Richard is our Technical Assistant and assists the castle team in many ways when a practical eye and a safe pair of hands are needed. Richard also supports the Collections Manager in her work in maintaining the horseshoe collection.
Team of
Volunteers
The Castle also has a Team of Volunteers who are dedicated and a great asset to Oakham Castle. They range from giving guided Tours to working in the gardens of the beautiful grounds . They give willingly their time, have extensive knowledge of the history of the building and engage enthusiastically with all our visitors & tourists.

house team
The Front of House team is dedicated to creating a warm & engaging welcome to visitors at Oakham Castle. They also provide historical background information on the Great Hall and its horseshoes, serve visitors in the Heritage Shop and assist with weddings and events. Their commitment makes the Castle an accessible & enjoyable space for all.
